Authentic and unique 1970's watercolor painting by Gordon Kit Thorne 1896-1982. Beautiful boat at a pier with Vancouver's Lions mountains peaks (Canada), also called the "Twin sisters" by our native people in British Columbia. Artist Gordon Kit Thorne was born in England in 1896 and moved to Vancouver, Canada. He was a painter, watercolorist, and etcher. His trademarks were a goatee and a bolo tie. The middle name Kit comes from his wife, Katharine, who died young. He sometimes signed only "Kit" or "Thorne". Acquired from a private collector in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Painting is in excellent condition but has a rip close to the top right corner (no missing piece, see photo 5). Dimensions: 14 3/4 X 22 1/4 inches. Painting is unframed and will be shipped flat in a sturdy and waterproof package.
